Happy Mother’s Day!
Today, because I have children, I get to celebrate Mother’s Day. And I love it! I got a pedicure yesterday, 
breakfast in bed today,
we’re going out for dim sum later (a personal fave), plus I got handmade presents from my kids. What’s not to like? It’s a great Holiday!
But I was asking my other mom friends what they had planned for Mother’s Day — and not too many had plans at all. Some blamed their husbands or the economy. But breakfast in bed is very affordable, as are handmade cards. I splurged a little on a pedicure, but only a little: a pedicure is one of the cheapest thrills in my repertoire. And dim sum is one of the cheapest family dining experiences going. I highly recommend it for the bargain as well as the deliciousness.
But the money isn’t the point: getting a little treat, a little respect, a little honoring, that’s the point. I hope all my mom friends get that today.
