Dude, What’s This Blog About, Anyway?
I need to tell you — and to define it for myself, too. So here goes:
What is is like being a 46-year-old woman staying home raising 2 boys in a world that values only people that make money? What does it feel like to step away from a career and find a life in a family? What does it feel like to work knee-deep in social justice on a daily basis and still enjoy a mani-pedi now and then? How does it work as a feminist when the next generation of men is within my reach and on my watch? (At least two of them.) Well, those are the things I will (and do) talk about in my blog.
I am a mommy blogger, and I claim the title, like some that I know and unlike others (who want to run away from it as fast as they can). I love being a mom, and I have my days when it’s a struggle. Because it’s not an easy gig, don’t let anyone kid ya. It’s serious business.
I realize this is not a good elevator pitch. (Most of you got off 14 floors ago). It’s really more of a manifesto. But there you go. It’s what the blog’s all about.

I enjoy your realness. As you know, I had to leap into the work force after staying home with my 3 babies for over 7 years. Yes, our society does for the most party value money. But, deep down, there are a significant amount of us that treasure humanity. You see, or if you remember when the boys were babies, toddlers and prekers, how people expressed themselves and ga gaad over the kids. People love that stuff! So, unfortunately, we need green stuff to survive and have a bit of a pedi-mani at times, and forget about the tough stuff in life. Hey, I can’t remember the last time I had one. Well, maybe now I can fit one in with this paying gig I got going now. Keep the blogs coming, we need your reality to remind us what’s important. I, too enjoy the journey, you definitely learn on the ride.
