Green Glop

green glopI have found a recipe for Green Glop and I’m so excited! I know what you must think of me now, but I can’t worry about that anymore: I have searched for this for years and now it has actually come to me.

My old yoga teacher used to drink it and call it green glop, but of course it has a much nicer name in real life: Bieler’s Broth. It’s celery, zucchini, parsley and green beans: chopped coarsely and thrown in a pot with a bit of water — boiled and simmered and blended — and consumed with gusto.

She has long since moved away and I have recently come to long for the recipe. Pine away, really. And then, out of the clear blue sky, it was literally handed to me today with an Oh By The Way, Here You Go.

Amazing. And the glop’s pretty good, too. (Needs salt.)
