Yes, I realize it’s the end of January, but being a month late for something is no reason not to do it at all.

I started the year with some resolutions and have had varying degrees of success with them so far, and so I’d like to tell the world because maybe it’ll help get my butt more in gear.

Speaking of which, getting in better shape is a perennial fave on any list, mine is no exception, and I’ve gone nowhere on that front. Plenty of excuses, you’ve heard them all. Clearly not a real priority for me or I would have figured it out.

But I’ve changed my easting habits, partly to lose weight and partly because I watched Food, Inc. — and just like reading Fast Food Nation, there’s no going back up the rabbit hole once you’ve seen the truth. So we’re buying organic chicken, bread with no high fructose corn syrup, natural peanut butter, nothing that contains hydrogenated anything, and at the suggestion of Jessica, we’ll even give buffalo meat a try.

The big resolution that I really want to keep and have been very unsuccessful at is doing fewer things. I will admit I am an overscheduled mom. (Welcome, Sarah.) I just do too many things. There, I said it. Most of them are things I have chosen to do and really want to do. But doing so many of them makes for a crazy life.

So I am re-committing to my resolution to do fewer things in 2010. If I can ever get around to it — so many things to do first!
