You Can Help PUR Bring Clean Water To Haiti

PUR water filters wants to give clean water to Haiti and the rest of the world. And you can help them towards their noble goal simply by clicking on their Facebook Fan Page. Every time they get a new fan, they will donate 10 liters of clean water to people in the world who need it.

PUR has partnered with the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program to help work for clean drinking water around the world. According to their website, every day more than 4,00 children die in the developing world because they don’t have clean drinking water. That’s a horribly large number. Let’s help them make it smaller.

They have created this water purification packet that’s pretty incredible-looking in action. Here’s a video showing how it works. It’s a long video, but it’s amazing to see the before-and-after results. PUR has donated 6 million PUR packets to Haiti — that’s 60 million liters of water. I applaud anybody doing anything to solve a giant problem like clean drinking water, and if it happens to be a large corporation doing it, so much the better. They can do more than I could do alone and I’m happy to help them. They are a very generous company — they also want to give a water pitcher to one of my readers. My friend Jessica Gottlieb invited me to lunch the other day — lunch with benefits. And while I got to play Wii tennis (badly) with my mom blogger friends courtesy of The Game Truck, was given an adorable bracelet made by MoGo and a cute T-shirt made by 10AgainClothing, the real beneficiaries were refugees around the world who are helped every day by the United Nations Refugee agency (UNHCR) since the luncheon was also a fund-raiser. Jessica asked several of her friends to open our wallets over some Chinese Chicken Salad (which was quite delicious), and of course, we could not say no. The UNHCR only needs $200 to build a tent in a refugee camp, and every contribution helps.
